Former Pupils
Last updated: 30/01/2018
We are very proud of the achievements of our pupils. St. Mary's is a supportive environment conducive to success in the wider world. Many of the pupils below regularly return to school and help support our work such as the Bambisanani Partnership and Celebrating Achievement.
We are always keen to hear from former students about their achievements and career progression. Please contact Mrs Tindall with news of your success and a photo if appropriate. We can then get in contact and follow up on some more success stories.
“At St. Mary’s we aim to give all students support and encouragement in whatever they choose to do. It is not just about how famous somebody becomes, it is how they emerge from this school as a person. Hopefully, we give our students the confidence, encouragement and values to achieve whatever they want to do in life. I think that in every school there is talent – the success comes in how you nurture that talent, how you keep young people level-headed and make sure they don’t waste the gifts they have. Success is a combination of great teachers, supportive parents and making everyone feel happy and confident about themselves.
If students are happy, they will perform better: there is no secret ingredient.”
“The great thing is they’re so keen to support everybody.”
“St. Mary’s was the place where it all started - it was a school that didn’t hold you back and encouraged you to work at your strengths.”
“St. Mary’s gave me the opportunity to achieve academically whilst encouraging and supporting my development in sport. I enjoyed my years at St. Mary’s and will always be thankful for the opportunities given to me.”
“Students aspire to do well due to the support of their teachers and aspirations they have. Many recent students have become famous in their chosen area of work, such as acting in Hollywood films, joining renowned British pop groups, and excelling in national sports or performance in national ballet groups. This exemplifies the nurture given to students over recent years to become whatever it is they want to become.”
