Learning Resource Centre

Our purpose built Learning Resource Centre (library) is on the first floor of the Morse Building.

The LRC, staffed by a professional librarian, is open to all staff and students from 8.00am to 4.00pm every school day.

During break and lunchtimes student access to the library is restricted by year group.

Resources are selected to support the curriculum and to promote reading for pleasure.

During lessons the Learning Resource Centre is mostly used as a study space for our Sixth Form. There is an extensive collection of resources to support the A-level specifications.

Exciting New Fiction and Key Stage 3 Reading Schemes

The Learning Resource Centre has a large collection of fiction to support all key stages. and importantly, the reading schemes in Years 7 and 8.

We are always keen to include exciting new fiction and books associated with films, such as The Hunger Games.

There are 11 'high specification' desktop computers for pupils to use. The room also has full wireless coverage (like all of the St. Mary's Menston school site). Moreover, Apple devices such as iPads and iPod touches are used in the Learning Resource Centre. There is a dual sided A3 photocopier which the computers can print to.
