Key Stage 3 Production 2014

St. Mary's presents Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Key Stage 3 Production 2014

Students from Years 7 and 8 retold Roald Dahl’s classic, the story of Charlie Bucket, a little boy with no money and a good heart, who dreams of being able to buy the candy that other children enjoy.

“I was delighted with the production. The talent and professionalism of such a young cast was extraordinary. It is incredibly exciting to have so many talented young people on stage and I hope that this is the promise of what’s to come from these students. The whole cast pulled together and created such a sense of community throughout rehearsals and the final performance. I could not have been more proud!”
— Miss C Andrews, Creative Faculty Leader

Memorable performances came from Keith Bray who played Willie Wonka, Matthew Kenneth, who played Charlie with such sensitivity, Sylvia Cullen who was terrifyingly good as Veruca Salt and Evie Malir who did a fine performance as Violet Beauregarde. Charlie Houlders and Tom Woolston played Mike Teavee and Augustus Gloop and were incredibly entertaining portraying the lazy and greedy children.

The exciting performance took place in H7, our Performing Arts Studio at St. Mary's on Wednesday 2 July 2014 at 6pm. Tickets were on sale at Pupil Reception during lunchtimes and cost £3 adults and £2 child (under 11's).

The classic story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, written by Roald Dahl, features the adventures of young Charlie Bucket inside the chocolate factory of eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka.
