It is with great sadness that we have to report that Martin Green, Head of PE and Sport, passed away yesterday following a year long battle with cancer.
Martin's outstanding contribution to life at St. Mary's is beyond measure. In 28 years of loyal and devoted service, he inspired both students and his colleagues to always be the best that they could be. Martin played a significant role in helping St. Mary's to become one of the most successful schools in the country.
His work in Physical Education and Sport gained national acclaim and he was always willing to share both his expertise and enthusiasm with colleagues at St. Mary's and beyond.
Martin's passion for education, devotion to the school and genuine concern for others will leave a lasting legacy at St. Mary's not just in terms of achievements or standards but more importantly by the example that he set and the values that he lived by. The school has been blessed in so many ways by this wonderful educator and kind person. He truly made a difference.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of this highly respected, greatly admired and much loved colleague; may he rest in peace.
