Thank you to Mr Dootson, Imogen Geoghegan and Oliver Horan for their photographs

It is visible as a partial solar eclipse in Leeds. The Moon will cover a large portion of the Sun, so it will be a spectacular sight*.

“Between 8.30am and 10.30am on Friday 20 March the moon will pass between the sun and the earth and cast a shadow. It will be noticeably darker and colder and quieter as all bird song will stop. Before we understood the Science, what would people think had happened? The last time that we had an eclipse anything like this was twenty years ago and there certainly won’t be anything like this for at least the next ten years.”
— Mr J Rogozinski, Science Teacher

*Important warning: don't look directly at the sun - whether with eyes or binoculars or anything else. Project an image onto white card.
