Presidential Chair commissioned to mark 50th Anniversary

Our beautiful chapel has never been furnished with a Presidential Chair which is the Priest’s chair. To mark the 50th Anniversary of St. Mary’s, a bespoke joiner, who is one of our parents and carers, has been commissioned to design and make a chair in keeping with our chapel and fit for a Bishop.

A competition is being launched among our students for a design which will be carved into the back plate of the chair. The Presidential chair will be first used by the very Rev. Bishop Marcus Stock when he visits St. Mary’s on Tuesday 30 June as principal celebrant of our Mass to celebrate 50 years of Catholic Education.

Should anyone wish to contribute/donate to the cost of the chair we would be grateful.
