Congratulations to Katherine Russell (8P) who has spent recent weekends swimming at the ASA North Eastern Championships.
Katherine was Champion in 50m breaststroke and Silver medallist in the 50m butterfly. As a result of these achievements, she is now ranked 13th and 12th nationally in these events and has been invited to compete at the ASA National Championships in August.
Swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports.

Year 10 student Nathan Snee has recently been selected to play for the Leeds Rhinos U16’s side and has also been awarded a two year Rugby Scholarship with the club.
Callum represented England in the Para-sport Athletics - Men's T54 Marathon.
Year 7 student Lily Durkan recently qualified in first place for the National Riding Schools Championships in the age range 12 and under.
Year 10 student Joe Nicol, is the best U16 platform diver in the UK.
Congratulations to Florence Greenhalgh, Year 7 who recently won the U12 Girls’ Yorkshire Cycle Cross Championships held in Holmfirth.
Congratulations to acrobatic gymnasts Olivia and Sophie Leonard (Year 7 and 9 respectively) who competed in the Turin International Acro Cup over the weekend, representing the Olicana Gymnastics Club.
