Alice Clayton, Leah Delahay and Izzy Palmer are a credit to St. Mary's.
On Friday 25 September 2015, three St. Mary’s students attended the Active Schools Conference. Alice Clayton, Leah Delahay (Year 12) and Izzy Palmer (Year 10) were selected to represent the school as outstanding Sports Leaders and sports performers.
The Conference was a celebration event and promoted physical activity to 300 primary school teachers. During the conference, the students were interviewed and were asked questions regarding their sporting experiences. All spoke with confidence and were a credit to St. Mary’s.
Swimmer Steve Parry and Alistair Brownlee also spoke at the conference, as well as former St. Mary’s student Megan Casey.
Following her performance at the West Yorkshire Junior Academy Centre trials for Hockey, Year 9 student Jessica Ferguson has been invited to attend the final assessment day for Durham and Leeds Performance Centres 2017-2018.
Aimee Benn, 10P, continues to climb the Ladies World Snooker rankings.
On Wednesday morning, Jamie Peacock MBE visited St. Mary’s to speak to Year 11 students during their morning assembly, in preparation for their forthcoming GCSE examinations.
A team from St. Mary’s last week took part in The Leeds Schools Climbing Competition at The Depot, Pudsey and came away with the Secondary Team Trophy.
