We were recently contacted by a member of the public who asked that two of our pupils be recognised for their kindness and community spirit.
During December, Old Main Street, Bingley was severely flooded. The Bingley Flood support group was quickly formed to help people in need and St. Mary’s students Alfie and Toby Buchanan, years 10 and 8 respectively, immediately volunteered their services.
The boys helped strip and take away a soggy, wet carpet from one particular home and they both worked extremely hard, giving up most of their Christmas holidays to help others. Both boys even volunteered on Alfie's birthday!
St. Mary’s are always pleased to receive news of our students helping within the community. Well done to both boys for their hard work, commitment and living out our school's values.
