Charity Football Tournament

St. Mary's ATP hosted a charity football tournament on Sunday to raise funds for Marie Curie

35 boys from Guiseley Under 9s were split into five teams and played some wonderful football for nearly two hours, demonstrating how football should be played.

£1,371 was raised through contributions, a raffle and the selling of refreshments.

The day was organised to commemorate the death of Robert Butt, father of Taylor who plays for the Guiseley Yellows, who sadly passed away last September after a long battle with leukaemia. He had coached the team before his illness.

Special thanks go to four of St. Mary's Sports Leaders: Ollie Armitage, Eduardo Demeurtas, Stan Fleming and Ben Hings who assisted with the smooth running of the day; refereeing games and coaching the youngsters.

Thanks also to some of the Guiseley Under 12s: Finn Hayes, Connor Peat and Frankie Sinfield for playing their part; helping with the matches, selling raffle tickets and assisting with refreshments.

On a huge day for British sport what a pleasure it was to be a part of another fantastic event.
— Mr M Harvey, Year 11 Student Progress Leader
