Isobelle Looks Towards Tokyo 2020

Isobelle Palmer, Year 11, continues to go from strength to strength in her chosen sport of para-dressage.

Isobelle is a current member of the team GB training programme and part of the Lottery funded World Class programme.  She is currently being mentored by para-dressage rider Sophie Wells MBE who recently won two Gold medals and one Silver at the Rio Paralympics.  Isobelle now rides one of Sophie’s horses, Pinocchio, following the retirement of her previous mount and the new partnership is beginning to gel with some excellent results in recent competitions.

The pair competed in their first open championship class held at Wellington Premier League in June and were placed first.  Last week Isobelle became the Grade 3 National Champion in the KBIS Gold Championship and was third over all grades.

Isobelle continues to successfully juggle the workload of homework, GCSEs and squad commitments plus daily training, and along with the support of her mentor she is aiming to compete in the Europeans, the World Equestrian Games and also secure a place on the Team GB squad for Tokyo 2020.

Good luck Isobelle and Pinocchio!
