This December saw the start of the annual French exchange. Year 10, year 11 and year 12 students welcomed their partners to Leeds for a fun-filled week. During their stay they visited York, Whitby and Leeds, and attended the St Mary’s Carol Concert. The French visitors were delighted with their trip to Leeds and commented on how warmly St Mary’s had welcomed them. They were particularly impressed with the quality and diversity of the lessons they saw during their day in school.
I was pleased to see how well the St Mary’s students got on with their partners, with tears being shed at the departure on Friday. I hope the students maintain these relationships beyond the return visit to Issoire in March.
I would like to pass on my thanks to all students and parents involved and for making the first leg of the exchange a real success.
