The Depot Schools Cup is an annual competition open to all schools in the Yorkshire area. Competitors compete individually in age group categories as well as in the overall team category. Competing against nine other secondary schools, the St. Mary’s team consisted of John Cracknell, John Cooper, Patrick Crotty, Hugo Stiles, Matthew Wilkinson, Georgia Beeton (Sixth Form), Stephen Cooper (Year 10) and Paige Marshall (Year 9).  Each student took part in 25 climbs with points awarded for each successful attempt.

There were some excellent individual performances throughout the day, notably John Cracknell and John Cooper who were joint first in the Male KS5 event with Hugo Styles not far behind in third.  Matthew Wilkinson and Stephen Cooper were fifth and seventh respectively and Patrick Crotty was tenth in the same group.

Georgia Beeton came second in the Girls KS5 competition with Paige Marshall coming fourth in the Girls KS3.  Both girls showed great grit and determination and will be ones to watch in the future.
