Year 10 students visit the Amalfi Coast May 2017

Over the half term break, fifty Year 10 students took part in a four day residential trip to the Amalfi Coast, Italy.  The trip was structured with the Geography GCSE course in mind to give students a hands on understanding of the processes of tectonics and tourism.

Based in Sorrento, the group also visited Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, the Isle of Capri to see the Arco Naturale and Faraglioni landforms, the clifftop town of Anacapri and the Blue Grotto.   The weather was glorious throughout which made the trip to Gelateria David even more enjoyable.

Here the students learnt about how ice cream is made.  There were also plenty of opportunities for tastings!
