The Pastoral Theme for Lourdes this year is: The Almighty has worked marvels for me!

Taken directly from the Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55)
My soul glorifies the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God, my Saviour. He looks on his servant in her lowliness; henceforth all ages will call me blessed.
The Almighty works marvels for me. Holy his name! His mercy is from age to age, on those who fear him.
He puts forth his arm in strength and scatters the proud-hearted. He casts the mighty from their thrones and raises the lowly.
He fills the starving with good things, sends the rich away empty.
He protects Israel, his servant, remembering his mercy, the mercy promised to our fathers, to Abraham and his sons for ever.

Whilst St. Mary’s Pilgrims were away with the Diocese of Leeds prayers were said for our whole school community and especially as our Feast Day approaches.

This was indeed a most blessed week enjoyed by staff and students alike as Megan O’Connor, Year 12 reflects:

“Lourdes has truly been a life changing experience for me in terms of the friends I have made as well as a wider understanding of my personal faith. I couldn’t be more grateful for this opportunity and it has been an experience I will never forget. It is not just the religious experiences that have made this experience great but also the small moments such as eating a delicious chocolate pie and a cup of cappuccino by the river. I will always be grateful to St. Mary’s for this.”
