PricewaterhouseCoopers Careers Insight Day

A group of Year 12 and 13 female students who study Maths and Computer Science, recently attended a careers insight day opportunity with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Based in Leeds city centre, PwC cover an extensive range of services from pensions and risk assurance to business recovery to audit.  The company have developed a proactive community affairs programme focused on creative and active partnerships in the communities where they have a presence.

The students took part in a series of rotational workshops, giving pupils an insight into the FinTech industry such as augmented reality, virtual reality and cybersecurity with PwC volunteers.  The workshops were designed to show the students first-hand what a career in FinTech involves and how they can apply their skills from the classroom to future careers.  Students were then able to quiz PwC technology apprentices and graduate scheme participants about what it’s really like to work in the industry – gaining insight into different routes and pathways into FinTech.

“The session at PricewaterhouseCoopers was a really thought provoking experience which helped me to better understand how cybersecurity is such a huge part of both business and our individual lives. We learnt about how artificial intelligence can massively benefit a wide range of industries, including both medicine and law. This experience gave me an insight into a potential career opportunity for myself that I had never previously had exposure to. It also showed me all of the possible apprenticeship and graduate programmes which PwC offer.”
