Year 10 Netball Tournament Victory

Leeds Schools Netball Association Invitation Tournament 2019–20

Well done to every St. Mary’s player and Mrs Robinson!

The St. Mary’s Year 10 Netball team faced 16 teams yesterday at the U15 tournament held at Prince Henry's. Reaching the semi-finals, the girls played close friends and rivals PHGS and took a comfortable win.

It was a nail biting repeat of last year’s tournament facing a strong Rodillian team in the final, which again resulted in a draw at full time. However, this was our year, and after six minutes of extra time, St. Mary's took the win with two clear goals.

“I am so pleased and proud that our Year 10’s have finally achieved the success they deserve in achieving 1st place in the tournament. Each year we have taken second place, narrowly missing out by just one goal. The whole squad should be extremely proud of their performance, team work and determination. They are amazing role models to lower school Netballers. Most of the girls play for Netball clubs outside of school, in addition to district and county training. They are proof of what you can achieve with strong commitment to training and teamwork.”
