The Global Learning Programme

St. Mary's Menston has been asked to become an Expert Centre for the Global Learning Programme (GLP) in recognition for their longstanding commitment to global learning. Global learning has been embedded into the whole school ethos, into the curriculum and is very apparent in the school environment. For this reason,  St. Mary's has been asked by the GLP to work with other schools and is looking for primary and secondary schools to join their network and become a partner school.

“We are delighted to have been appointed as a lead school for the Global Learning Programme. This will enable St. Mary’s to build on considerable strengths that already exist, as well as working with other schools to develop their partnerships.”
— Mr Darren Beardsley, Headteacher

Mr Tunnecliff is eager to hear from any primary or secondary schools interested in joining the St Mary’s network.

As well as receiving free training on international work, schools who choose to sign up will also receive £500 worth of CPD, tools and guidance to development global learning in their school and a logo for their school website and letterheads.

Schools wishing to join can register here

“The school is really excited to be embarking on this new initiative. It will help us to share our experience with others, as well as move closer towards our vision of becoming a world class Catholic school.”
— Mr Tunnecliff
