Ullswater Residential Year 8
The annual Year 8 Residential, on the edge of Lake Ullswater offers our students a very full programme of activities, designed to provide physical, social and team building experiences.
St. Mary's students have been going to Ullswater for at least 19 years. Our older students often look back on the residential as one of their favourite memories.
Date of the next Ullswater Residential:
February 20 (–24) 2017
As part of our school's ongoing photos and memories project, an online gallery of Ullswater photographs has been created.

A Parents’ Information Evening will be held on Monday, 25 January 2016 from 6.00pm – 7.00pm in the main Hall when you will be given more Information regarding the Residential. You will also have the opportunity to raise any questions at this time.
Students will need to bring a packed lunch on Monday 22 February as their first meal will not be served until tea time that day.
A £10 deposit is required from each student to cover loss or damage to equipment. Please send this amount in cash on the day of the visit with your son/daughter – cheques cannot be accepted. The deposits will be collected on arrival at the centre and will be repaid at the end of the week.
This residential is full of beauty and adventure,
help me Lord to be fully alive to it all.
During this week, may we become more thoughtful people, more prayerful, generous and kind
When Friday comes, may we look back on the week with no regrets
Make it be a week in which we grow a little more like your Son, and gentle as Mary His Mother.

The John Muir Award
The John Muir Award model is the common thread that runs though our Ullswater Residential, Duke of Edinburgh's Award and the World Challenge.
The John Muir Award "encourages people to connect with, enjoy, and care for wild places."
You can see a permanent display celebrating our school's 'Outward Bound' work in the stairwell near Room H33.
