50th Anniversary Celebrations 2014–15
We celebrated our 50th Anniversary during the entire Academic Year 2014–15.
St. Mary's Menston first opened its doors to pupils in November 1964 and was officially blessed and opened by the Rt. Rev. Mgr. George Patrick Dwyer, Bishop of Leeds on 3 July 1965.
It was a very special and enjoyable year!

Mr Craig Teague, parent and bespoke joiner, was commissioned to design and make the chair which was blessed during our 50th Anniversary Mass.

A fantastic success involving parents, former students and staff
Our beautiful chapel has never been furnished with a Presidential Chair which is the Priest’s chair. To mark the 50th Anniversary of St. Mary’s, a bespoke joiner, who is one of our parents and carers, has been commissioned to design and make a chair in keeping with our chapel and fit for a Bishop.

Skills and talents showcased at St. Mary's annual Open Day
Mrs Barnes and Year 9 pupils have worked tirelessly and very creatively to produce 50th Anniversary Bunting for under our Canopy and throughout Pupil Reception.
A historic project is ongoing to collect old school photos and memories to add to the school's own collection. There is a display outside our Main Hall (room M1).
In honour of St. Mary's 50th Anniversary, we are challenging students across all Key Stages to a small but perfectly formed mini-tales in 50 words. No More No Less.
On Sunday 14 September, Staff and Students of St. Mary's Menston got the 50th Anniversary celebrations off to a flying start with the first ever Staff vs Students golf competition at Northcliffe Golf Club, Shipley.
