We are delighted that you are considering St Mary’s for your child.  The process for admission into Year 7 in September 2027 begins in September 2026 and is via the local authority. Details of their processes can be found at https://www.leeds.gov.uk/schools-and-education/school-admissions

Application Process and Timescales

To apply for a place in Year 7 for September 2027 in the normal admission round, a standard application form known as the Common Preference Form (CPF) must be completed, and returned to the relevant Local Authority. Failure to provide a CPF would mean that an application is not valid.

If parents feel that they should be in a specific category ie Baptised Catholic, then they are required to complete a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) and provide the required evidence. The SIF is available in the documentation below. If you require a paper copy, please contact the school. The SIF should be submitted by by 31st October 2026 to Admissions, St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy, Bradford Road, Menston, LS29 6AE or on admin@stmarysmenston.org Failure to provide a SIF may affect the category your application is placed in. Please note that it is the responsibility of the parent/carer to complete all forms and supply evidence – reminders will not be sent.

Parents/carers will be advised of the outcome of their application in March 2027 by the Local Authority. Unsuccessful applicants will be given reasons related to the over-subscription criteria listed in the Admissions Policy and advised of their right of appeal.
