A Level Results 2026

There was a tangible sense of pride and celebration at St Mary's this morning as students collected their A-Level and vocational qualification results. Across all levels of attainment, students achieved a host of individual and collective successes, many of these underpinned by inspiring stories of dedication, resilience and personal triumph.  Headteacher Miss Hattersley said:

 

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our students who have received their examination results today. Their achievements are a testament to their dedication, determination and commitment to pursuing their aspirations through hard work, diligence and perseverance.

At St Mary’s, we believe that every young person is unique, with their own gifts, talents and potential. Examination results, whilst important and worthy of celebration, represent only one aspect of their achievements and do not define their value as individuals. Throughout their time with us, these young people, with the support of their families, have enriched our school community in countless ways and we are grateful for the many contributions they have made in helping to shape the special community that St Mary’s is today.

Whilst results day is first and foremost about celebrating the achievements of individual young people, I am particularly pleased that the vast majority of our Year 13 students are progressing to their first choice destinations in September, with 51% going to Russell Group Universities, including Cambridge University. This reflects the high quality of education our students receive here at St Mary’s and the dedication of both staff and students alike.

We are immensely proud of all our students and are delighted to celebrate their achievements in person today. Their results represent the culmination of years of hard work and significant personal progress throughout their time at St Mary’s. 

The skills, experiences, values and personal qualities developed during their time at school will provide a strong foundation for their future lives. We wish all our Year 13 leavers every success and happiness as they embark upon the next exciting chapter of their life journey.
