GCSE Success
There were plenty of smiles and happy tears in school this morning as students received their impressive GCSE results. Staff and students came together to celebrate the outcomes across a wide range of subjects with many securing the grades they needed to progress to the next stage of their education, apprenticeship or employment.
St Mary’s places the highest importance on recognising the value and worth of each individual and take pride in supporting them to realise their full potential. This morning the resilience, determination and hard work came to fruition. Many students achieved exceptional results including:
Ethan Steer - 10 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s
Aiden Sykes - 10 Grade 9s and 2 grade 8s
Emilia Armitage - 8 Grade 9 and 3 Grade 8
George Lawrence – 11 Grade 9s and 1 grade 8
Headteacher Miss Hattersley said ‘ It was a joy to see so many students opening their envelopes and celebrating the results they have worked so hard for this morning. From outstanding grades to remarkable personal journey’s we are very proud of what they have achieved and the challenges they have overcome. It reflects the dedication of our students, the support of their families and the commitment of staff who have encouraged and guided them. I’m delighted that so many have decided to continue their journey with us in sixth form and offer our thanks and best wishes to those who are pursuing other opportunities.
