Teacher of Religious Education - MPS/UPS

Permanent and full time

Required for September 2019.  The Governors seek to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified graduate teacher to teach Religious Education.  An ability to teach KS5 would be advantageous.  NQTs and trainee teachers achieving QTS by July 2019 are welcome to apply.

Religious Education is central to the life of our school and is taught across all key stages and ability ranges.  The Catholic ethos of our school is very important and is supported by all staff, feeder primary schools and local parishes.

St. Mary’s is a popular and highly successful school situated on the North West fringe of Leeds, close to the Yorkshire Dales.  The school is part of the Bishop Wheeler Catholic Academy Trust which consists of the high school and 9 primary schools.  The April 2014 Section 48 inspection and November 2014 Ofsted inspection judged St Mary’s as an outstanding school.  We became a Teaching School in October 2015 and a National Support School in September 2017.

  • Closing date: Monday 28 January 2019, 12 noon

  • Interviews: Friday 1 February 2019

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed; please contact Mrs Tindall, PA to the Senior Leadership Team to make an appointment on Tel: 01943 883000 or email at a.tindall@stmarysmentson.org

Please email your application form and supporting documents to recruitment@stmarysmenston.org addressed to the Headteacher.

St. Mary’s is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
